Dr Robert Bothwell
Dr Robert Bothwell is a Psychiatrist with a special interest in Addiction and related disorders, Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Mood Disorder, ADHD, Trauma related and Personality Disorders.
Dr Bothwell’s approach is integrative and involves the use of medication, psychotherapy and when appropriate a family approach and collaboration with other professionals.
Dr Bothwell gained his medical degree at Wits and then trained in Psychiatry at the University of Newcastle-upon-Tyne, where he became a Lecturer. In 1995 he joined the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Cape Town where he gained extensive experience running Therapeutic and Addiction Units. He also has years of experience in research and teaching. A particular interest was the teaching and practice of Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, though more recently he has been strongly influenced by the Mindfulness movement. Dr Dot Feast
Dr Dot Feast is a Psychiatrist with a special interest in Addictions, Mood and Anxiety disorders, Dual Diagnosis and trauma.
She gained her medical degree and Psychiatric training at the University of Cape Town and has completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Addictions Care through the Psychiatric Department at UCT in 2015. She is a member of the South African Addictions Medicine Society.
She was previously employed at the HIV Mental Health Research Unit at Groote Schuur Hospital where she was a research co-ordinator. She was also actively involved in patient care in the Psychiatry Department as well as at The Ivan Thoms Health4Men Clinic. She has been in private practice at Kenilworth Clinic since 2014.
Dr. Feast believes in a holistic approach to mental health using predominantly a Motivational Enhancement approach, including CBT, Psychotherapy and use of medication when needed. Dr Katherine Gilfillan
Dr Katherine Gilfillan is a psychiatrist with a special interest in Addictions, Mood & Anxiety Disorders, Adult ADHD and Psychotic Illnesses.
Dr Gilfillan offers an integrative and holistic approach to treatment by working closely with other mental health care providers and health services.
She completed her MBChB at the University of Cape Town in 2003. She went on to obtain her postgraduate specialist degree in psychiatry from the South African College of Medicine and then completed her Masters of Medicine in Psychiatry at the University of Cape Town.
After graduating, Dr Gilfillan worked as a consultant psychiatrist at Valkenberg Hospital. She was also a lecturer in the Division of Psychiatry at the University of Cape Town.

Dr Duncan Laurenson
General Practitioner, Diploma in Addictions
Dr Laurenson has 15 years’ experience in addiction medicine, and is currently working clinically at two prominent Clinics in Cape Town, Kenilworth Clinic and Stepping Stones . He has recently completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Addiction Care at the University of Cape Town.
His interest focuses on medical aspects of addiction, particularly withdrawal treatment (detox) and he is currently engaged in a project monitoring treatment outcomes in various clinical settings.
In conjunction with Dr Robert Bothwell he runs a continuing care programme, Recovery Outcomes
He is also a member of the Service Quality Measures (SQM) committee, a South African Medical Research Council committee initiative to measure quality of treatment in South African substance abuse treatment centres. Dr Eloise Reid
Dr Reid obtained her medical degree at the University of Pretoria and then trained in Psychiatry at the University of Cape Town. After completing her specialist training she joined the Groote Schuur HIV Mental Health Group as an Outreach Psychiatrist, where she helped set up a tertiary referral system at various ARV clinics throughout the Western Cape. During this time she also worked as a part time lecturer at the University of Stellenbosch. Dr Reid has been in private practice since 2009.
Her special interests include Addiction, Depression, and Neuropsychiatry, in particular Dementia and Geriatric psychiatry, as well as Mental Health in people living with HIV / AIDS.SEND DR REID AN EMAIL
